Fitting a 数字人 to your brand: face, voice, look and the rules that hold it together

By Morphrix Nov 2026 6 min read

The fastest way to waste a 数字人 is to make it generic: a polished stranger in a blazer reading a script that could belong to any company. Viewers scroll past because nothing about it says you. This last part of our series covers the four decisions that make an avatar feel like your brand rather than a template.

In this article

  1. Decision 1: whose face
  2. Decision 2: how it sounds
  3. Decision 3: how it looks on screen
  4. Decision 4: the rules it follows
  5. Test it before you commit
  6. Where we come in

Decision 1: whose face

There are three choices, and they’re not equal.

Whichever you pick, get a short written agreement covering where the likeness is used and what happens if the person leaves. Decide that before the first clip, not after.

Decision 2: how it sounds

The voice is more of the brand than the face is. Three things to decide:

Scripts should be written the way your team actually speaks, then read aloud once by a real person before the avatar says them. If it sounds wrong in a human mouth, it sounds worse in an avatar’s.

Decision 3: how it looks on screen

Decision 4: the rules it follows

Write these down so whoever makes the clips follows the same rules every time:

Test it before you commit

Before the avatar goes on your main account, make three clips and show them to five real customers. Ask two questions: “Does this sound like us?” and “Would you watch to the end?” If the answers are lukewarm, fix the script and voice first. That’s nearly always where the problem is, not the avatar itself.

Where we come in

Our branding and social media service sets up all four decisions with you: choosing and agreeing the host, writing the voice guide and scripts, building the on-screen frame, and running the monthly mix of avatar and real-person posts. If you’re new to the series, start with what a 数字人 is, or take our one-minute branding check.

Common questions

Should my 数字人 be me or a staff member?

The owner gives the strongest trust but ties the brand to one person. A consistent team member as brand host keeps the brand independent and can also appear live. Avoid stock or synthetic faces for a service business.

Should my 数字人 speak English or Chinese?

Decide by audience and post type, and keep it consistent. Many Singapore SMEs run some posts in English and some in Chinese. The avatar shouldn't switch languages at random.

How do I make an AI avatar look on-brand?

Use the same frame every time: colours, logo position and subtitle style. Match wardrobe and setting to what you sell, and keep backgrounds plain.

What should be in a 数字人 brand guide?

Whose face it is and the likeness agreement, language and tone, words you always and never use, the visual frame, what the avatar is and isn't used for, labelling, and who approves scripts.

How do I know if my 数字人 is working?

Before launch, show three clips to five real customers and ask if it sounds like you and whether they'd watch to the end. After launch, watch saves and replies, not just views.

Want a 数字人 that actually sounds like you?

Send us your account and tell us who you’d want on camera. We’ll show you how the face, voice and look should fit your brand before anything is made.
